Our intuition leads us astray because reality is counterintuitive.
Every year, as part of the mBank New Horizons IFF, the IP Studio space, run by the IP Group artistic collective, is transformed into an Ambient Room environment. Using both digital and analog tools, we create an immersive experience. By combining light, sound and visual interactions, we observe how these elements influence our senses, trigger synesthetic processes and transform our perception of reality.
As part of the 8th edition of the project, we are wondering what time, space and movement are and how they work. We will look at situations in which our intuition fails, we will reach for surprising frames of reference, we will stop at moments when something happens that goes against our expectations, common sense or logic. We will move towards the non-obvious.
counter/intuitive is the eighth edition of the cyclical Ambient Room project carried out at IP Studio in Wrocław, an open studio (artist run space) and creative space run by the IP Group collective. In their activities, IP Group analyzes selected media aspects, designing multi-dimensional immersive environments. The next iteration of the project is scheduled for 2025.
